System Engineer - Embedded Wireless Team (Nokia Drone Networks)

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled System Engineer to join our Embedded Wireless Team within Nokia Drone Networks. As a System Engineer, you will develop, test, and integrate advanced wireless systems for drones and autonomous applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with customers and partners to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize embedded software and firmware for drones and autonomous platforms. 
  • Integrate flight controllers and communication systems to ensure high reliability and performance. 
  • Design and implement application and platform layer features for autonomy and connectivity. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer-specific requirements and project roadmaps. 
  • Lead and participate in system integration and testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards. 
  • Work with customers and external partners to address technical challenges and ensure solution alignment. 
  • Document system designs, test plans, and results to maintain high-quality standards. 
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues. 

You Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent with a minimum 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field, such as the aviation, drone, or robotics industry. 
  • Development experience with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in C# and C++ development; knowledge of Python and other languages is an advantage. 
  • Proven experience with flight controller firmware development and integration. 
  • Experience working with complex application and platform layer features for drones, robotics, and autonomy applications. 
  • Experience knowledge of Linux and its networking layer is essential. 
  • Prior experience with NVIDIA or Qualcomm products is highly desirable. 

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Commitment to developing reliable, customer-driven software solutions. 
  • Experience collaborating with customers and external partners within cross-functional project teams. Ability to work across time zones within a global product development organization.
