Project Manager - ensure global drone implementation projects

DSV

Job Req Number:  84586
Time Type: Full Time

Do you want to work with the newest technology in an upcoming area – and by doing so, ensure effective transportation of essential products and vital goods, like spare parts for wind turbines, medicine or blood samples? At DSV, we have fuelled our focus on drone projects worldwide and started a brand-new team just for that purpose.

“Stepping into a fairly new area of excellence, you’ll have the opportunity to really influence our path going forward – what’s more, you get a truly global network, not only internally, but also spanning customers and stakeholders in general,” says Mathias Vinter, Head of Drone Excellence.

A new team with global reach

Based out of our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, you will join our new Drone Excellence team. Here, we work with our Airbridge concept, which evolves around drone deliveries, based out of our local offices across the globe. We have worked with drones for a couple of years, but just now have a formal division for it.

While we hope that you will have your daily routine at the office in Hedehusene, we are also open to hearing from you if you are based outside of Denmark. We expect that the role will take you travelling to our local sites, though the extent is not yet determined.

Implement drone projects across the world

As our new project manager, you will be responsible for local roll-out projects of Airbridge around the world. That means working closely with each local office, the relevant customers in that area, as well as local authorities to ensure that legislation is adhered to. You will work on several projects concurrently, and the project complexity varies from country to country.

You will further gain a wide internal network when you discuss technical issues or options with specialists or practicalities with warehouse personnel. And while your role might not be directly sales-orientated, you will most likely contribute to spotting new sales opportunities when you get familiar with each new market.

Owning the projects, you will, more specifically:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Allocate resources and manage project budgets
  • Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring everyone understands their roles and responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the reach and reliability of the Airbridge concept
  • Assist in developing the Airbridge framework by securing necessary permits, establishing the operational organization, and integrating cooperative partnerships

You have a trouble shooting mindset and stakeholder management skills

Most importantly, being a key part of this new area is the thing that drives you. At the same time, your great stakeholder management skills enable you to work with people across borders, professional areas and personalities.

We are very open to your professional background. You might have project management experience, drone know-how or be freshly out of university – we do, however, imagine that you:

  • Have a keen sense for problem solving – maybe from a master’s degree at university or a prior job
  • Can specify technical changes/requirements to technical/development/operational teams
  • Either have worked professionally with drones or have a natural interest in the area
  • Are a self-starter, as well as a strong independent decision-maker, so that you are able to navigate in a new area where few things are yet set in stone
  • Have English proficiency at business level
