Imagery Product Engineer II – Drone Data Analysis

Join our Software Products team to innovate and develop market-leading software products that collect, process, and analyze drone and aerial imagery while leveraging your enthusiasm and skills in creating analysis products from drone data to shape the future of decision-making. Esri is looking for candidates to join our ArcGIS Reality project development team. As a Product Engineer in this role, you will help define user stories and collaborate with developers to design and implement imagery analysis tools. You will also play a key role in assessing the quality of ArcGIS Reality products through daily testing and certification of releases. Leverage your enthusiasm for creating analysis products from drone data and your imagery analysis skills to impact the future of decision-making through drones. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge photogrammetry software solutions for drones and aerial imagery. This position is based at Esri's headquarters in Southern California.

Responsibilities

  • Design, draft, and create user stories, tutorials, and demos for ArcGIS Reality products
  • Design, develop, and implement cutting edge imagery analysis tools
  • Design, develop, and test machine learning algorithms
  • Analyze daily test results and report daily quality status
  • Recommend and document best practices for multiple workflows and use cases
  • Become an expert in ArcGIS Reality and contribute to the future of multiple ArcGIS Reality products

Requirements

  • 2+ years performing imagery analysis or automating feature extraction from imagery
  • Basic knowledge of photogrammetry and remote sensing processes
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
  • Experience in remotely sensed imagery analysis
  • Experience working with GIS, remote sensing, or photogrammetry software
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Development skills using Java, C#, or Python
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and contribute to creating quality commercial software
  • Bachelor's in geography, computer science, remote sensing, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of Python
  • Hands on experience training machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
  • Familiarity with drone imagery or aerial photography
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the ArcGIS Reality products (Drone2Map, ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Reality Studio, SiteScan for ArcGIS) desired
  • Experience with one or more photogrammetry and imagery processing products such as Pix4D, Agisoft PhotoScan, or DroneDeploy is a plus
  • Experience with cloud systems such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS is a plus

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is$72,800—$124,800 USD
