As a Drones Operations Coordinator, you’ll be a vital part of our team, coordinating drone activities. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW 

 

  • Supporting Drone Pilots – You will be collaborating closely with drone pilots to prepare for flights, including conducting thorough risk assessments, securing site access and obtaining necessary permissions. As well as ensuring all safety protocols are followed during drone operations. 

  • Project Management -You will be efficiently managing payments related to drone activities and allocating time and drone usage effectively to relevant projects. 

  • Business Alignment – You will maintain clear communication channels with stakeholders across the organization and ensure that the outputs of the drone team align with business requirements and strategic goals. 

  • Operational Efficiency- You will continuously optimize processes and resources within the drone team and identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined workflows. 

  • Financial Administration – You would administer and track payments for the drone team, ensuring timely and accurate processing as well as collaborate with finance and procurement teams to manage purchase orders and invoices. 

  • Flight Preparation and Coordination- You would need to gather necessary information for drone flights, including flight plans, equipment requirements, and safety protocols. You will also organize both hard copy and electronic filing systems to maintain comprehensive records. 

  • Stakeholder Communication – you would need to notify third parties (such as landowners, regulatory bodies, or local authorities) of upcoming drone flights as well as seek feedback from flight requesters to improve processes and enhance outcomes. 

  • Site Access and Logistics – We would be looking for someone who can arrange access to sites for drone operations, coordinating with relevant personnel as well as ensure compliance with site-specific requirements and safety protocols and facilitate smooth logistics for drone deployment. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE  

 

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too. 

In this role, we would be looking for you to have a good knowledge base of SAP Ariba and experience in managing purchase orders as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.  

When working with the business, we would be looking for you to have great adaptability skills to ever changing priorities. And someone who has proven experience in workload planning and delivering outputs within specified timeframes. 

We also would be looking for someone who is proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting and presentations. 

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS: 

 

We would also be looking for someone who has experience in the event planning and stakeholder sector who has experienced organizing events or workshops related to drone technology.  

We are preferably looking for someone with some familiarity with aviation regulations, safety standards and knowledge of airspace restrictions.

  • Flexibility to travel to other Severn Trent Water sites as needed. 

  • Strong organizational skills while maintaining a people-first approach. 

  • Someone who is an advocate for Health, Safety and Wellbeing, ensuring team compliance with relevant standards. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths at grade C or above. 

  • Full UK Driving Licence (with access to own vehicle).
