Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Specialist (Drone Technology) to join our team! In this role you will get to join a dynamic, cross-functional drone operations team, assisting the Drone Program Manager and driving the successful execution of critical, complex, business-driven initiatives in projects at various phases of the project management lifecycle, thriving in a cross-functional environment while delivering high-quality outputs to solve hardware, software, and other project challenges.
What You'll Be Doing:
Perform the role of remote pilot in command on various projects with other flight crew members.
Resolve complex technical problems by finding innovative solutions such as utilizing scripts to address software-related deficiencies.
Assemble, test, maintain, tune, and overhaul various drone systems to maintain the team's operational readiness.
Work with various drone-related software and hardware, including flight controllers, payloads, and data processing programs.
Develop curriculum to train Parsons remote pilots both in the field and online.
Stay updated with unmanned technology news.
Maintain high-level quality assurance to ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, unmanned aviation, or another related STEM field.
Proficiency with coding and previous experience with unmanned aircraft.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work within a team and independently.
Willingness to travel to site locations, up to 50%.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
0-5 years of related experience is preferred.
Part 107 Certificate, hands-on UAS experience, and experience with various flight controllers.
Proficiency with Python, C++, program writing, debugging, and modeling, including 3D modeling and additive manufacturing is preferred.
Knowledge of Windows Office Systems, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to learn and teach new software and hardware, prepare presentations, and demonstrate team and leadership skills.
