Communication Drone Intern

Salary/Position Classification

  • 16.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete a 2-week online training course on Part 107 Drone Licensure.
  • Pass the FAA exam in-person at the UND Ryan Hall Testing Center to acquire license.
  • Operate and take videos and photos using a small drone under instruction.
  • Edit aerial footage and images using Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Work closely with intern supervisor and other interns to complete tasks,
  • Attend weekly in-person meetings for updates and progress reports.
  • Assist with a research project including creating stimuli, collecting data, analyzing results
  • Use drone only for permitted uses with supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)

  • Ability to work as a team, with the other intern and with intern supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience taking any communication classes and/or participating in activities hosted by the Department of Communication.
  • Any level of video editing knowledge and skills (but not required).
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
